How do I add another kid?

Tap “Switch” on the kid card at the top of the home screen to open “Who’s learning?”, then add a profile with a name, an avatar (animals, sports, food or any emoji) and an age group. Each kid gets their own progress, stars and badges. Tap a kid to switch.

How do I show decks for my kid’s age or grade?

Tap the grade button on the kid card at the top of the home screen (it says “All ages” until you pick) and choose a grade from TK to 6th, or an age group for younger kids. Each kid keeps their own choice, and the home screen shows the decks that fit. Pick “All ages” to see every deck.

How do I make my own deck?

On the home screen, scroll to “My decks & sets” and tap “New deck”. Give it a name, pick a cover emoji and color, and add cards. Each card can have an emoji or a photo. You can group your decks into sets too.

How do I share a deck, or add one someone shared?

Open a deck you made and tap the share button at the top to get a QR code or link. To add a shared deck, scan the QR code with your camera or open the link, then tap “Open in SNAC”. You can also paste a link under “Add a deck someone shared” on the home screen.

Why is SNAC asking me a math question?

That’s the grown-up lock. Settings, progress reports and deleting things ask a quick question that’s easy for adults and hard for young kids, so nothing changes by accident. Once you answer, it stays unlocked for a few minutes.

How do the games and Review work?

Tap the ? button on the home screen for “How to play” guides with animations and read-aloud. Each game also shows its guide the first time. To see the guides again, go to Settings → Help → Show the game tips again.

How do I set a daily goal or reminder?

Settings → Daily goal. Pick 10, 20 or 30 cards a day (or Off), and turn on a daily reminder for the morning, after school, evening or bedtime. If the reminder won’t turn on, allow notifications for SNAC in your device settings.

Cards aren’t being read aloud

Tap the 🔊 button on a card, or turn on Settings → Study → Read cards aloud to hear every card automatically. Check that your device isn’t on silent and the volume is up. Voices for other languages come from your device; you can add more in your phone’s accessibility or language settings.

How do I make the text bigger or turn on dark mode?

Go to Settings → Appearance. Choose Light, Dark or System, and pick A, A+ or A++ for the text size.

How do I start over?

Settings → Kids → Reset [name]’s progress clears one kid’s progress. Settings → My decks & sets → Delete all my decks & sets removes everything you made.

I got a new phone. Can I move our progress?

Yes. On the old device, go to Settings → Backup → Save a backup and save the file to Files, iCloud Drive or email. On the new device, install SNAC and use Settings → Backup → Restore from a backup. Restoring replaces what’s on the new device. Deleting the app without a backup also deletes its progress.
